Man’s black wool broadcloth suit c/o frock coat w/ notched collar, padded & quilted interior side panels, interlined w/ pale red wool, tail pockets, black satin lining, magenta china silk sleeve lining, matching trousers, c. 1855-1860, coat SH-SH 18”, CH 36”, L 35”, trousers W 28”, Inseam 34”, L 46”, (10.5” vertical tear at seat, 4” tear CB W, tears up to 2” along jacket hem, 4” repair left underarm, wear to cuffs, messy 0.5” repair left SH, few small light stains/holes, buttons worn w/ some loose/missing, glue residue around buttons, light discoloration trouser hem, coat lining heavily shattered/damaged) fair. Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum to benefit collections care, preservation and future acquisitions.
