An antique ca. 1908 German gilt brass tea pot or kettle by Peter Behrens, 1868 to 1940, a leading German architect, graphic and industrial designer, best known for his early pioneering AEG Turbine Hall in Berlin. Octagonal shape, minimalist decor along the body facet. Wooden lid finial. Square straw handle. Marked 3598 1.25 L on the bottom. Provenance: Barry Friedman Ltd., 1986. Collectible Tableware, Tea Service, German Werkbund, Arts And Crafts Movement.
