Item Details

Description

This early remission order has her red Majesty's England royal seal still affixed ordering the release of Benjamin Reed from the Goal in Pembroke who was sentenced for one month in jail on the charge of a Disorderly Apprentice after the consideration pleaded to her. The queen extended her grace and mercy and remits his said term in the goal and discharges him from custody by her Majesty command. Dated April 28th 1841 with an "R Munn & Co." watermark when held to the light. Some toning and ink spots on paper.
