Description

Southeast Asia, Laos, Hua Phan, ca. 15th century CE or earlier. A set of 3 hand-carved stone scrapers, each with a lengthy body and smoothly polished surfaces. One slender stone exhibits a gentle green hue while the larger 2 feature a myriad of brown hues. Each tool has an acutely-angled edge that is primarily used for scraping fur or wood bark, and the thick bodies were perhaps hafted to wooden poles if not being used in the hand. Size of largest: 5.5" L x 1.8" W (14 cm x 4.6 cm)
