W.M. Porter & Sons Nickel Plated Railroad Conductors Lantern
A handsome example of a W.M. Porter railroad conductors bell bottom lantern. The Porter lantern has some unique features such as a drop bottom burner pot and fount which releases by pushing two buttons on the underside. The top is also secured with a clasp which make it convenient to open. The nickel finish is strong and the lantern body exhibits a few very light / shallow dents in the bell bottom. The fount and wick raiser appear to be correct for this model. The underside of the lantern is marked with a W.M. Porter and Sons maker tag. The globe is an unmarked clear extended base with no notable chips, cracks or breaks. A nice example of this lantern.
