An inscription on the stretcher reads: This work was on 3-year loan from Capricorn Galleries, Bethesda, MD to the American Embassy, Djibuti, Africa under the US State Dept's 'Art-in-Embassy' program 1993(?) to 1996.

Provenance: Purchased at auction from the living estate of the artist's niece.
