Item Details

Description

German. 1940s. Pressed steel and lithographed tin components. The green, teal blue, light blue, and pale blue cars are marked "Made in U.S.-Zone Germany". Post-war German manufacturers were banned from exporting goods. Americans occupying the territories permitted the sale and export of toys so long as they were marked "Made in U.S. Zone Germany". This marking was used from the mid to late 1940s. The red, darker blue, and beige cars are marked "Made in Germany" Marked on instructions, rear license plates, and undersides of cars. 2" x 5.5" x 2.25". The Howie Meyer Legacy Collection.

Condition

One set of Akustico instructions included. Two cars retain windshields. Light blue Examico has replaced gear shift knob and touch-up to passenger side wheel. Beige Akustico requires horn button. Akustico horns do not work.
