Description
This map is a magnificent illustration of the world's mountains and rivers in 1839 when the geography of the earth was still being explored and measured. It was created by Charles V. Monin, a French map publisher and La Sociéte de Géographie member in Paris¹. The map is hand colored and engraved, and it is in good condition, with some minor foxing. It measures 26 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches, and its authenticity is guaranteed. The map shows the comparative heights of the mountains and the lengths of the rivers of the world, using a scale of miles and meters. The map also includes the heights of some waterfalls and the depths of some oceans. The map covers all the continents and regions of the world, such as Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Australia, and the Arctic. This map is a valuable and beautiful piece of cartography, showing the world's mountains and rivers as they were in the early 19th century.
