Anglo-American School, 19th century, Two Profile Portraits of Military Officers One watercolor and gouache bust profile of a young man in blue and red coat, on toned paper and mounted in glazed frame, together with a bronze- and ink-painted silhouette of a grenadier on horseback, signed 'G. ATKINSON' at lower right, in later glazed frame, largest sight, 11 1/4 x 14 in. Footnotes: Provenance A North Smithfield, Rhode Island, Estate. Shreve, Crump & Low label attached to reverse of grenadier portrait, attributing the work to George Atkinson of Windsor, England, silhouette-cutter and 'Profilist to His Majesty and the Royal family' in the early nineteenth century.
