Claude Lacombe (Francois Truffaut) awaited the Mothership as Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) and Jillian Guiler (Melinda Dillon) scaled Devil's Tower.

Created by Jenson to coordinate which VFX were needed for the landing sequence, this set consists of four storyboards hand-numbered "Effect 41," "Effect 42," "Effect 43," and "Effect 45." Each is annotated with shot requirements and rendered in ink and watercolors on serrated drawing paper. The set exhibits torn corners and pinholes. Dimensions: (each) 11.75" x 9" (30 cm x 23 cm)
