Includes about 55 albumen and gelatin silver photographs, 1 stereo view, 3 negatives, 3 postcards, 4 printed documents, and several pieces of additional later items including photocopies and reference pamphlets.Photographs documenting life in the West, with about 25 images showing logging, industry architecture and daily life; 5 albumen photographs of San Francisco; about 24 photographs or photographic illustrations of Native Americans. Locations include San Francisco, Seattle, Banff, and smaller settlements in the same region. Includes an interesting document harshly reproving a court martial for ignoring proper procedures, but not altering or commuting its sentences: Head Quarters Department of the Columbia. General Orders No. 2. January 20, 1867. Signed by an individual (George Williams?), disbound from previous sammelband.
