Native American, Northeastern United States / Canada, Iroquois people, ca. 1904 CE. A pink purse box that is hand beaded with glass and sequins on a pink cotton over a stiff board frame. The purse has tassels, a handle, and beading that spells out "BOX" on the lid flap and the year on the front. Iroquois women turned to the traditional skill of quill and newer glass bead working as a livelihood for tourists that wanted unique souvenirs and novelty items. Size: 5.5" L x 3" W x 4" H (14 cm x 7.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
