Native American, Western United States, Plains tribes, likely Lakota (Sioux), ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A wide loom beaded band sewn to a red cloth backing, and at both ends there are grommets with leather cords for attachment. This may have been worn as a belt sash for ceremonial or powwow regalia. The use of a white beaded ground makes the geometric patterns stand out - from a distance the patterns are still quite bold and easily discernable. Size: 32" L x 5.25" W (81.3 cm x 13.3 cm)

Losses to some threads and beadwork, but most beads are intact and tightly woven. Red cloth has losses to seam threads and unraveling. Leather cords and hems are cracking and stiff. Fair to good used vintage / antique condition.
