Pair of 19th Century Chinese Green-Glazed Export Porcelain Parrot Figures
Location of Manufacture: China
Period of Manufacture: Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) ; 19th Century
Dimensions: 6" (h) ; 3" diameter at base
Weight of Pair: 2 pounds, 7 ounces
For your consideration is a pair of 19th Century Chinese export porcelain bird figures. These birds have beautiful impressed and carved details and a creamy off-white glaze covers these forms. Atop the buff colored glaze is applied a verdant green translucent glaze accented with brown and black glazed details. Each of the birds have a hole in the back of their head to insert a stick of incense. No markings noted.
