AN 18TH CENTURY SOLID SILVER IMPERIAL RUSSIAN TEA KETTLE ON STAND, MOSCOW, C. 1761
the rare antique, mid 18th century Russian solid silver kettle with bullet shaped body chased with rococo decoration and spiral bands, mounted with a turned wood swing handle and knob, the stand applied with cast floral apron, the burner within three scroll legs and shell feet, hallmarked with Imperial Russian silver marks (875 silver standard), Assay master E.A (unknown), Moscow, year 1761, Maker's mark in Cyrillic B.A (unknown silversmith, active 1760-1794, see Russian hallmarks, Postnikova -Loseva, page 204 and for a similar example see page 79), burner and stand bearing scratch test marks and later French import marks.
In Great Condition - No damage, just general wear.
