Description
A Federal Mahogany Pillar and Scroll Shelf Clock, Seth Thomas, Plymouth Connecticut, 19th Century. The twelve and a half inch paper dial with Roman numerals, wooden works movement, the twin train movement striking on a bell. The hinged door with reverse painted glass tablet depicting George Washington's Mount Vernon Plantation. With applied Seth Thomas paper label to the interior of case inscribed "PATENT CLOCKS, / INVENTED BY / ELI TERRY. / MADE AND SOLD / AT / PLYMOUTH, CONNECTICUT. / BY / SETH THOMAS."

Condition
Structurally sound. In an overall restored condition. There has been old breaks and glued repairs to the pediment and bracket feet. The reverse painted tablet appears to be replaced or repainted. Creases and wear to the paper dial. Scattered marks, wear, nicks, scuffs and surface scratches overall. We cannot guarantee the functionality or completeness of the clock's movement. With pendulum and case key. No weights.
