The lot includes: 2017 Lifetime Professional Achievement and Community Service 'Humanitarian' Award from The Louisville Defender Newspaper and Simmons College of Kentucky, 2001 Proclamation from the Office of the Mayor of New London, Connecticut nominating the film "Shaft" to be part of the National Film Registry, 2005 Certificate of Special Recognition honoring Roundtree's "distinguished career and outstanding work in the fight against breast cancer" from Congresswoman Maxine Waters, 2013 Certificate of Recognition from the "Special Tribute to Legendary Actor, Richard Roundtree" from Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Richard Roundtree was best known for his portrayal of private detective John Shaft in the 1971 film Shaft and four of its sequels. Over his five decades as an actor, he has appeared in some 160 film and television projects, sharing the screen with actors including Clint Eastwood, Peter O'Toole, Laurence Olivier, Samuel L. Jackson, and Brad Pitt, and received numerous awards, such as an MTV Lifetime Achievement Award, a Peabody Award, and a Black Theater Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award.
