Description

This is a wonderful pair of bronze figural match holders. (A) A match holder in the form of a goblin or devil with wings and legs wrapped around a cauldron, which would have held the matches. There is an additional embossed face in the cauldron, and the cauldron is ribbed to be a match striker. It has a great form and detail to the casting. CONDITION: There are no breaks, cracks or repairs in great aged bronze patina. (B) A figural match holder for cast iron stoves in the form of a fly. It has great casting with great detail, marked "By Boughton's Star Screens." The wings lift to expose the match holder. CONDITION: The holder shows aged patina with no breaks, cracks or repairs. Condition: (Very Good) Dimensions: 2" X 3" X 7"
