Description
Original antique advertising poster to promote the Touring Arts Exhibition / Turnus Ausstellung organised by the Swiss Arts Club / Schweiz Kunstverein and held in Schaffhausen. Fantastic artwork by the Swiss artist Mangold Burkhard (1873-1950) depicting a young lady wearing traditional clothing and carrying a basket of red roses on her back, walking along a countryside path with a village and hills in the background. The Schweiz Kunstverein was founded in 1806 and the first Turnus was held in 1840. Printed in Switzerland by Graph. Anstalt, J. E. Wolfensberger, Zurich. Very good condition, restored tears and loss on corners and bottom margin, repaired tears in margins, backed on linen. Country of issue: Switzerland, designer: Mangold Burkhard, size (cm): 96x67, year of printing: 1909.
