April 10, 1777, Pennsylvania, Forty Shillings, Black Print, PCGS Very Fine-25.
Fr. PA-223a. A high quality circulated 1777 Revolutionary War date note of the very scarce Black Print type for this high 40 Shillings denomination. Signed by W. Thorne and M. Schubert, in red and brown, holder states details repairs. Two-Sided. Printed by John Dunlap. Measuring 104mm x 61mm. Printed on special watermarked Pennsyl-Vania paper. To Counterfeit Is Death. Strong paper and well centered with rich black designs.
