The bag comes with a notarized letter of provenance from famed Hollywood hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff, who did hair for Raquel Welch for films and for personal appearances in Los Angeles. The letter states in part, "Raquel gave me this red and gold evening purse to add to my collection. No one has worn it since Raquel." Sydney Guilaroff was a hair stylist during Hollywood's Golden Age who was the first to receive on-screen credit in films. He worked for more than forty years at the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios on more than a thousand films, and was instrumental in crafting many of the hairstyles which became the signature looks for numerous film stars.
