The dress has a sheer short sleeve overlay with bugle and seed beads creating a lovely floral motif. The gown comes with a notarized letter of provenance from famed Hollywood hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff, who did hair for Raquel Welch for films and for personal appearances in Los Angeles. The letter states in part, "Raquel gave me this black long skirt short sleeve gown with beaded top overlay to add to my star worn collection around 1990. Raquel cut the labels out right before giving it to me because she said, 'They didn't pay me to endorse their clothing I wont have people thinking that I wear them.' No one has worn it but Raquel." Sydney Guilaroff was a hair stylist during Hollywood's Golden Age who was the first to receive on-screen credit in films. He worked for more than forty years at the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios on more than a thousand films, and was instrumental in crafting many of the hairstyles which became the signature looks for numerous film stars.
