Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery bowl bearing a white ground adorned with dark brown linear, checkerboard, and abstract motifs. The bichrome presentation is pleasing to the eye and leaves a substantial amount to the viewer's imagination. Size: 5.4" L x 5.375" W x 3.5" H (13.7 cm x 13.7 cm x 8.9 cm)
Provenance: Private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000.

Stabilization to one fissure stemming from rim, with light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and nicks, with light fading to pigment, otherwise in nice condition. Nice presentation.
