Description
Nobility Patent tooled leather over wood box emblazoned with the Royal Hohenzollern Eagle on the lid. c1900. The box contains the portfolio bestowing nobility, a high-relief carving of the Kaiserzeit Imperial eagle, silver mounts corners, gilt and polychromed. On reverse, interlocking diamond design with genuine silver pips at the corners of the design and at the left bottom impressed name R. Burries, Berlin. Silk lined. A binding cord is deattached from the folio, but attached to a silver repousse (along with Royal Prussian eagle) cassette, 800 Silver with red wax with the coat of arms of the Prussian Heraldry Office. Hallmarks M Shaper 800 silver. Nobility papers are not present. 10.4lbs

Condition
Box has scuffs, rubbed areas, one missing bun foot. Interior fabric has some loss to the edging and fraying. Silver case has oxidation, some wear to the tassels. Folio has edgewear, dust soiling and scratches, wear to polychrome.
