Description
Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1070 BCE; Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A set of 2 ancient Egyptian artifacts. First is a New Kingdom faience scarab covered in turquoise-hued glaze with a cobra and a bee on the base; this was intended as a good luck charm. The larger artifact is a Late Period faience amulet of Shu, god of the wind, with arms raised towards a cobra-fronted solar disc. Size of largest (Shu amulet): 0.62" L x 0.76" W x 1.17" H (1.6 cm x 1.9 cm x 3 cm); 1.43" H (3.6 cm) on included custom stand.
