Description
China. Well carved as a larger and a smaller chilong confronted as they clamber on a plain bi disk with a small aperture in the center, the beasts well detailed with round eyes, twisting bodies, and furcated tails, the larger chilong with a lingzhi in its mouth. The translucent jade is of a pale celadon tone with russet hues and veining as well as icy inclusions.
Provenance: The trade in Tel Aviv, Israel. Acquired from a local estate.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minuscule nibbling. The jade with natural fissures, some of which have developed into small hairline cracks.
