Cast bronze sculpture by Kathe Kollwitz, 1867 to 1945, a German Expressionist artist and printmaker who worked with the themes of war and national trauma. The figurine represents an embracing couple. Titled Abschied, The Farewell. Ca. 1941. Signed by the artist with initials on the bottom. The piece is mounted on a black marble base. This work was created after the death of the artists husband, Karl Kollwitz. Collectible Sculpture And Decor, Second World War, Women Artists.
