William Charles Anthony Frerichs (American 1829-1905), 'Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina', second half 19th century, oil on canvas, depicting a mountain landscape with figures, apparently unmarked, The Rosenbach Galleries Philadelphia PA label and Johnson Hall Fine Art Rosewell GA label verso, framed.

Approximate dimensions: canvas h. 30.25", w. 50.25"; frame h. 44", w. 64.25", d. 5".

Condition

Examined under blacklight, scattered repairs, inpainting, and craquelure to overall, green varnish layer seen under uv light. Tiny chip to lower left center, in foliage-- not distracting.
