Description

Maitland-Smith Carlton House style mahogany veneered desk in the Adams taste with polychrome floral decoration, rising on tapering legs with casters, together with a similar shield back Sheraton style side chair, the desk marked to interior of drawer, the chair apparently unmarked.

Note: Proceeds of this sale benefit the non-profit Cathedral Thrift House in Atlanta, Georgia.

Approximate dimensions: desk overall h. 38", w. 43.25", d. 24.75"; chair h. 37.75", w. 21", d. 19.5"; seat h. 19.5".

Condition

Desk: some scattered scuffs to edges, veneer/finish issues to upper flat section, damage to right curved lid at screws, some scuffs to legs with one having a white scuff possibly from coming into contact with a painted surface, case is structurally sound. Chair: water stains to upholstery, visible joint seam/dryness crack to lower back, some scuffing to legs, frame is structurally sound.
