Description

For your consideration "Allegory of Fishing" a bronze by Duchoiselle and a pair of Native bookends. The bronze sculpture is a wonderful casting of Duchoiselle's work known as the Allegory of Fishing. It depicts a female American Indian in a canoe and it is signed near the base of the sculpture. It sits on a what appears to be a black marble base. Duchoiselle was a French sculptor in the 19th Century. The bookends are gold tone and feature a Native American crouching with his hunting dog. All these pieces would be a fine addition to your home and collection. Make your bid now!
MAKER: Bronze signed by Duchoiselle (19th Century). Bookends are unmarked.
APPROX AGE: Both appear to be antique (meaning made prior to the 1930s).
SIZE: Bronze measures approx 10 3/4 inches tall x 15 1/4 inches long x 6 3/4 inches wide and weighs approx 10 pounds. Bookends measure approx 6 3/4 inches tall x 5 3/8 inches long x 4 3/8 inches wide.
