Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi tribe, Turtle Clan, ca. 1968 CE. A hand-woven basketry plaque of circular form with an integral suspension loop rising from the uppermost border. Decorating the center of the tan plaque is a dark-brown turtle bearing a burnt ochre shell that spirals around with the plaque's construction. Size: 6.9" W x 7.7" H (17.5 cm x 19.6 cm)

Loosening and light abrasions to some fibers, with minor fading to pigments in scattered areas, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to turtle motif.
