These handcuffs were designed by Tom Ford for Gucci and displayed in Gucci store windows after Patrizia Gucci had been jailed for hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband. A pair is on permanent display in the Gucci Museum in Florence. It is not known exactly how many of these handcuffs were made but only a few have been on offer in the last 30 years. Made from solid Sterling Silver (weighing ca. 270 grams), they can actually be worn as bracelets. The basic mechanism is the same as with real handcuffs with the difference that there are no keys, just a push-button release mechanism. Very good vintage condition with minor wear and patina according to age. Engraved GUCCI on both sides and carrying a production number. Measuring approx. 9" long x 3 1/8" wide (closed).
