Description
An antique late 19th century painting on porcelain plate. The piece represents a female portrait in Renaissance-style attire. After the 1876 painting titled Bildnis einer jungen Frau mit Federhut, Portrait of a Young Woman in Feather Hat by Friedrich August von Kaulbach, 1850 to 1920, a German academic artist. The original artwork was lost during World War II. Unmarked. Presumably production of the Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, or KPM, one of the most influential German porcelain factories revered for its porcelain plaques depicting historical scenes or copies of famous paintings.
