Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood star in this vertiginous World War II mission movie, based on the Alistair MacLean novel of the same title (and adapted by MacLean himself). Set in a fictional German mountaintop fortress infiltrated by a squad of bold Allied commandos, it is an action-adventure classic.
