Pichet couvert à eau chaude en porcelaine de Meissen, circa 1730-35
A Meissen hot water jug and cover, circa 1730-35
Painted in Kakiemon style, each side with a phoenix in flight above sprigs of indianische Blumen, the domed cover with flowers and a gilt finial, brown-edged rim, 17.5cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised x (restoration to rim of cover and footrim, finial restuck) (2)

Condition
The finial is cleanly restuck; the gilding on the top of the finial is worn. There are restored chip(s) to a 1/3 section of the rim of the cover; the whole rim is overpainted.
There are some restored small chips to the spout, which is overpainted.
There is a restored chip to the footrim; the overpainting extends around approx. 2/3 of the footrim.
Otherwise in good condition.
