A Meissen rectangular tea canister and a matched cover, circa 1735

Painted with a continuous chinoiserie scene depicting figures seated at a table beneath a palm tree on one side, and another being carried in a sedan chair, flanked by flowers and with insects in flight overhead, below a gilt border with trellis panels and scrollwork, enclosing on the top chrysanthemums reserved on a trelis ground, the cover with gilt scrollwork filled with Boettger lustre and a gilt border, 10.5cm high, crossed swords mark in blue, gilt numerals 13. (the canister) and 23. (the cover) (2)

There are tiny spots of flaking to the corners of the gilt and around the footrim. There is narrow wear to the gilt scrollwork border around the shoulder at each corner. There is some minor narrow wear to the enamels on the top around the neck (where the cover sits).
Otherwise in good condition.
