The rounded rectangular top with three-quarter gallery above fluted supports, the lower tier with a drawer, above turned tapering legs terminating in brass caps and castors, the lower drawer marked 'GILLOW & CO', 56cm wide x 41cm deep x 102cm high, (22in wide x 16in deep x 40in high)

Gillows of Lancaster and London, also known as Gillow & Co., was a notorious English furniture making firm based in Lancaster, Lancashire, and in London. Founded in about 1730 by Robert Gillow (1704–1772). It was owned by the family until 1814 when it was taken over by Redmayne, Whiteside, and Ferguson. The new owners continued to use the Gillow name. Gillows furniture has always been synonym of high quality furniture.
