Group of Stock Certificates from Colorado. 1. The Little Annie Mining Company, incorporated in Colorado, operating in Roaring Fork Mining District, Pitkin County, Colorado. Certificate no. 152 issued to George N. Thatcher(?) for 2000 shares on Apr 29, 1891 in Aspen, Colorado. Signed by Clark Wheeler(founder of Aspen/business owner) as president and A.J. Pecks(?) as secretary. Signed by Thatcher n reverse, not cancelled. Mr. Wheeler was a very famous figure in his days! 2. The Croesus Gold Mining and Tunnel Company, incorporated in 1895, located on Cripple Creek, Colorado. Certificate no. 430 issued to I. R. Fell for 100 shares on Jan 7, 1896 in Colorado Springs. Signed by president William P. Brisight(?) and secretary J.(?) Connell. Uncancelled. Countersigned by a registrar of the International Trust Company, Denver. Ornate, gold border and seal, black print on beige paper. 3. The Crescent Silver Company of Cincinnati, incorporated in Ohio; located near Georgetown in the West Argentine District, Colorado. Certificate no. 163, issued to J. W. G. Hackpole(?) for 5 shares at $100 each on Mar 15, 1871. Signed by vice president G.B.H. Hodgeton(?) and Secretary Thos. Biggs. Punch cancelled. Red border and print , green seal, and top center vignette of Colorado state seal. 25 cent IS IR Stamp, punch cancelled. The Georgetown Miner on Oct 13, 1870 reported that the Crescent Silver MC had produced 40 tons of ore yielding $200 per ton simply drifting on the vein. Raymond's report for 1872 reports, "The Stephens Lode had been constantly and profitably worked during the year, yielding an average of 30 tons per month of good ore, averaging 750 ounces of silver per ton, with a high percentage of lead." 4. The Goldfield Coming Nation Gold Mines Company, incorporated in Arizona, operating out of Goldfield, Nevada . Certificate no.2031 issued to N. Boas(?) for 500 shares on May 9, 1907 in Denver, Colorado. Signed by president Henry Schaetzer(?) and G.C. Roberts as secretary. Signed by Boas(?) and Jas. J. Rutherford & Son representative on May 13, 1907 on reverse. Gold border and seal, black print, top left vignette of working miners. Pamphlet style, 3 fold. 5. The Gold Placer Mining Company, incorporated in Connecticut; located in Summitville, Rio Grande County, Colorado. Certificate no. 2956, issued to A. J. I. Hamilton for 100 shares at $25 each on Mar 2, 1880. Signed by president (illegible) and secretary Banks. signed by Hamilton on back, not cancelled. Black border and print by Globe Stationary & Printing Co., New York. Gold seal bottom center, great mining vignette at center top, showing the hydraulic mining process. Not listed in C&L. According to an article in the Rocky Mountain News, 1881, this company operated claims 4 miles south of Breckenridge. A different article places them 1881 closer to Alma, Colorado. In 1883, the claims, described as 800 acres of placer grounds near the confluence of the Swan and Blue Rivers in Summit County, were sold.(The Fairplay Flume, Aug 2, 1883) 6. United States Gold Corporation Stock Certificate, Boulder County; unissued. Cert. no. 815, black and gold print, ornate, gold border and gold seal bottom center. Center top a vignette of an eagle, a scene of a city in the background, very fine. This Company owned the Klondike, Sphinx and Livingstone mines in the Grand Island Mining District. Colorado
