Description
Eight mounted photos of Skagway and surrounds, including several different birds-eye views. The photos are all mini-panorama photos, 2" x 6 3/4" on 4 1/8 x 9" brown board mounts. No photographer shown. Four are bird's -eye views. Two view appears to be a series of fisheries from slightly different angles. One of the bird's eye views shows a building labeled "Klondyke Trading...". Another view if of the steamer Humboldt. The last view may be of Atlin, a rich discovery made in 1899 on the route between Vancouver to Skagway. The Humboldt started as a Seattle steamer to Vancouver. Just after March, 1899, the Humboldt got relegated to the Vancouver to Skagway route, which it kept through at least 1902. It was a huge steamer, held more than 200 passengers and about 200 tons of cargo. All very fine, though the contrast is a bit dark but very clear, hence reading the names mentioned. Skagway Alaska
