Description

Llano Uplift from Turkey Peak, Hill Country, Texas, oil on canvas, 30 x 36, signed lower left: ID Shepler, Shepler was an artist, craftsman and interior design and decorator in San Antonio. He was a member of Leon Springs Art Colony. In 1919, he moved to San Antonio permanently and maintained a studio on Houston Street. He would hand carve his own frames. In 1935, he opened The Alamo Art Gallery on St. Mary Street in San Antonio, TX. His paintings are in Museums and private collections all around the State.
