Vinikoff, Sam (1919 - 2010) Florida Artist Painting. Oil on Canvas - signed lower right. Executed in palette knife. An intriguing Seminole Indian tribe painting. A family of five nestled in the pine barren with a distant "Chickee" hut. The Chickee was constructed of cypress logs and palm tree thatch woven together by vines and remains the primary structure and congregation point. Canvas measures 9x12 framed to overall size of 13x16. Sam Vinikoff, known as "Artist of the Everglades", moved to Miami, Florida, with his family in 1957 after serving in the British Army during World War II. A friend and contemporary of A.E. Backus. Condition: Very Fine
