Description
Photographer: Walter Frentz (1907 - 2004). The Führermuseum in Linz. 1938-40. 10 vintage gelatin silver prints, 2 on Agfa-Brovira paper. Each circa 15,5 x 29,5 cm and 29 x 24 cm. 2 with stamp on the verso, 2 identifying various figures and dated, on the verso, 1 mounted on original paper with title and photographer's signature in pencil below the image.
Seven photographs by Walter Frentz show Hitler, Speer, Göring and other high-ranking Nazi figures surveying the area in Linz, Austria where the 'Führermuseum' was to be built. The museum was intended for the display of art plundered or purchased by the Nazis throughout Europe during World War II. Two photos are of the model for the Linz museum, designed by Speer. – Some with surface scatching and bumped corners, two with previous signs of mounting on the verso, otherwise in good to very good condition.
