Renowned for his watercolor and oil paintings, Zaman Zamani was born in 1922 in Babol, Iran. Nature was a frequent subject for Zamani, and he was famous for his snow and seascape scenes. His works are seen as a balance between traditional Persian painting and modern art. He illustrated textbooks for elementary school children in the 1960’s and 70’s while director of art for Franklin Publications in Tehran. Zamani’s passion extended beyond painting, and his photographic collection took the bronze prize from Kodak, National Geographic Society in 1960. His works have been displayed in collective exhibitions in the United States, Iran and other countries. Zamani died in 2016.
