Description

A John Cuff Compound Microscope, ca. 1745,
Signed J. Cuff, London. With spring stage, two objectives, live box, talc box, Lieberkuhn reflector, super stage condenser, eight bone specimen slides, plano mirror and condensing lens. Seven inch main tube with eyepiece dust slide, rectangular pillar mounted to mahogany and oak single drawer stand.
Contained in a mahogany and oak pyramidal box with single drawer.

Box dimensions: H: 18 x W: 8 1/2 x D: 8 in.

H: 14 in.

Exhibited at Dittrick Museum.

From the Estate of John A. Davidson, Jr. Proceeds to benefit the APL of Lorain County and the Dittrick Museum.

Condition

Lacking drawer pull, key and lock. Case drawers and base in poor condition. Joint, drawer and trim have separations. Previous repairs to base.
