Mary Ann Brister's English Needlework Sampler, 1807. Worked in silk threads on linen with three rows of the alphabet above the verse "Obey your Friends seek Wisdoms ways/ To God devote your youthful Days..." and "Mary Ann Brister/ her Work/ 1807," above a flower-filled urn flanked by flower baskets, all within a meandering berry and leaf vine. Frame: H: 20.125 in., W: 17.125 in., D: 1.125 in. Provenance: The Dingman Collection, Hampton, New Hampshire.
