George III Mahogany Bracket Clock, Gravell & Tolkien, Number 2735, Circa 1800. The oval top inlaid with a whelk shell patera, within a brass gallery rail surmounted by artichoke finials, the case within reeded brass chamfered corners, above inset oval panels and raised on reeded block feet, fitted with brass carrying handles, the arched door and sides inset with pierced brass sound frets, opening to the enamel dial signed "GRAVELL & TOLKIEN/ LONDON" and with a strike/silent subsidiary dial in the arch, all within pierced brass scroll and floral spandrels, ten hammers striking on a bell, engraved on the backplate in script "Gravell & Tolkien/ SUCCESSORS TO/ EARDLEY NORTON/ London," the glazed back door affixed with the retailer's label "PERCY WEBSTER/ VENDOR/ 37/ ST.
