Description
Phenomenal old bag. 32 3/8" long, 8" wide. First half of the 19th Century. Old museum tag reads: Pipe Bag of Buffalo Hide. The beaded design is intended to represent a prairie chicken. This Was Obtained from White Feather a Cherry Creek (Cheyenne Indian Reservation, South Dakota). It was given to him by his father when he was 20 years old in 1875. He has had it since. Provenance: Glen Maddox Collection.
