Description
Dating from 1926/27, rigged with the earliest toilet seat hardware and experimenting with a faceplate, this pyralin test bait is very near the final product. Originating from the Heddon factory archives, purchased from the highly respected Heddon collector Walt Blue. Unfinished except for a gold painted spot on each leg, with only light wear and soiling. An important and extremely rare lure from the Luny Frog's evolution. We are unaware of another.
From the Russell White Collection
The most comprehensive assemblage of Heddon Luny Frogs - from early wood prototypes to other lures finished in the coveted "luny" pattern. A well known decades-long collection, displayed for many years at tackle shows, containing truly rare examples, pre-production and test baits as well as one-of-a-kind lures.
