Exceptional condition on this extremely rare introductory picture box, having a very crisp silver illustration of the Bucktail Spinner, "Patent Applied For" marked, the box bottom retaining its original shipping label, as well as bold factory printing on one end flap "Shakespeare-Worden Bucktail Spinner No. R.W.2. 1-12 Doz.". With only light wear, a worn spot on the interior box bottom from the lure's century+ presence, the underside factory stamped "Patented Feb. 5. 1901, April 9, 1901" prior to its original sale. Housing the correct early aluminum lure, shiny Ex-/Ex, with a single "Pat. Appl'd For" marked spinner and full bucktail tied treble hook. This extraordinary package also includes the correct folded picture catalog, even rarer than the intro box with only a scant few examples known. It would be near impossible to find this important early combination, especially in this condition.
