Please note that this work has been examined within the frame. The work is attached to the glass backing at two points to the centre left edge and upper right corner (verso).



The upper and right edges are uneven and there is a loss to the lower right corner, possibly inherent to the sheet. There is some wear to the upper edge, with a fold to the upper left corner beneath a historic remnant of lined paper, as well as a faint folding crease to the lower left corner and a couple of gentle scattered handling creases (recto), probably also inherent to the sheet. There are some tiny scattered accretions and a few light spots of surface dirt visible, together with some smudging to the surface, inherent to the time of execution.



In our opinion, the work is in overall very good condition, the abovementioned features in line with the artist's use of the original sketchbook for portability and rapid sketching.
